Back From The Desert. Kumi Kumi Coco Puff

I’m back from the desert. Lancaster was f-ing HOT. I think it was 120 or so. I drank more water and Sprite in 2 days than I drink in a week. And I didn’t pee. It sort of freaked me out. At one point several of us were sitting around talking about how freaky it was that there was no peeing going on. I stayed pretty hydrated, though.
Shooting with all of the different photographers at the workshop was alternately inspiring and frustrating. Some of them were awesome and ready to go and full of ideas. Others were more interested in their fancy light meters than their subject matter. At the end of the day, you don’t need a fancy camera or lights to get a great shot, and I think that was lost on some of the students. Some of the best pictures were taken at the workshop by small point and click cameras.
The stylists at the shoot were rad. I already bought a dress from Antiseptic and should have it in a couple of weeks. They totally rocked it and brought some awesome corsets. I was really impressed with their attention to detail and organization. They lent me 2 corset/posture collar combos for my shoot on Thursday with Lori (Mann), and we’re planning on doing a leather dress that will utilize my ability to make my waist freakishly small. I’m hoping to visit with them for a fitting on my next trip to San Francisco. I only got to wear one set of accessories from Mother of London, but I totally loved her stuff. Mildred had a soft Scottish accent and amazing hair. We didn’t get to chat all that much, but since she’s in L.A. I’m hoping to talk her into making me a few pieces. We’ll see.
All of the models (including myself) were totally beat by the blistering heat, but we all hung in there. It was great to see girls that I adore but don’t get to hang with very often, like Natalie Addams and Vima, and was kewl to meet new ones that I’ll probably be running into over the next couple of years, like Mosh and Ulorin Vex. It was also great to finally meet Trishy Trashy. I know that she’s good friends with Lori, and anyone who is a friend of Lori’s is a friend of mine. I mostly hung out with Kumi and Angela, though. It was nice to visit with Kumi, since most of our “quality time” is spent on the internet. I kept saying “Kumi Kumi Coco Puff” and I’m sure that got annoying, but she hung in there. We wanted to shoot together, but it didn’t work out. I think we got a cool shot in the pool together, and I’ll post it if it comes my way. And Angela is awesome. I kept telling TMS that I wanted to keep her. And I do. In my basement.
*evil laugh*
Lori was fabulous, as always, and did a great job of keeping everyone on task. Lots of models, lots of students and lots of support staff made for a hectic situation and she handled it fabulously. We’re shooting on Thursday and I can’t wait. The shoot will be at Big C’s and Angela is doing my makeup. I have lots of kewl things that haven’t been photographed yet, and I’m very excited. My new Bizarre Design corset dress and my HW posture collar are at the top of the list.
TMS was wonderful, of course. He shot some BTS and I can’t wait to get it edited for Lori. I’m going to try and talk him into letting me edit it with his help. I’ve been dreading editing any of my own shtuff and this would be a good opportunity for me to edit without having to hear my voice. I think everyone is annoyed by the sound of their own voice.
I talked with Vima about doing a Gwen Media shoot. I’m hoping to do that in the next two months. She’s so pretty and doll-like that it’s kind of creepy when she talks. Like Jade Indica, she has an otherworldly beauty that is a little unnerving in person.
Varla keeps biting my feet. I think she wants some attention, and I don’t want to be an amputee, so I’m going to go spend some time with her.
